The Proposal

A development application and supporting Environmental Effects Report (EER) for the establishment and operation of a biodiesel processing plant at 32 The Avenue, New Norfolk, was referred to the Board of the Environment Protection Authority (the Board) by Derwent Valley Council for assessment under the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 (EMPCA).

A copy of the permit application, and all of the plans and other documentation submitted with the permit application (including the EER) were made available for public inspection. The public comment period is now closed.

Environmental Assessment Report and EPA decision

The environmental assessment has now been completed and the report can be viewed below. This report contains an environmental assessment and recommendations to the Board of the Environment Protection Authority in relation to the proposal by Peter Johnson to establish the biodiesel processing plant at 32 The Avenue, New Norfolk.

The permit conditions provided by the Board of the Environment Protection Authority are contained in Appendix 1 of the Environmental Assessment Report. These conditions must be included in a planning permit should Council approve the development application.
