The Proposal

Prospect Timber and Landscape Supplies Pty Ltd proposed the expansion of an existing sand extraction pit at Forest Hill Rd, Cleveland, to a maximum production level of 20,000 cubic metres.

The application was referred to the Board of the Environment Protection Authority (the Board) for assessment under the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 (EMPCA).


Public Exhibition of Documentation and Public Representations

A copy of the supporting documentation was made available for public inspection. The public comment period is now closed.

Following the public comment period the proponent has been required by the Board to prepare a DPEMP Supplement to address issues raised in public and government agency consultation. 


Supporting Documentation

Documentation submitted in support of the proposal provides a source of information upon which interested individuals, groups, government agencies and the Board may consider the environmental impacts of the proposal.

The EER was prepared by the proponent on the basis of the project specific guidelines for preparation of an EER which were provided by the Board.

Environmental Assessment Report and EPA decision

The environmental assessment report has now been completed and can be viewed below. The report contains the permit conditions required by the Board to be included in the land use permit, if a permit is granted, by Council.
