Sewage Pumping Station Guidelines

The Sewage Pumping Station Environmental Guidelines December 1999 address issues such as odour, noise, modern communications technology, and emergency preparedness in relation to sewage pumping stations. Public Health requirements for monitoring and signage warning of overflows when they occur and notifications protocols, are also described by the document. The guidelines also present performance goals for operators and designers of sewerage systems.

The guidelines are intended to inform civil engineers and other hydraulic designers of the environmental requirements and standards for sewer and pump station performance in Tasmania. The design philosophy should be "zero uncontrolled emissions to the environment".
