The Proposal
Barry Gossage has proposed to expand an extractive pit off Illawarra Road, Carrick; extracting and processing up to 30,000 cubic metres of
material per annum.
The proponent has lodged a Development Application with a supporting Environmental Effects Report (EER) to the Meander Valley Council.
The application has been referred to the Board of the Environment Protection Authority (the Board) for assessment under the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 (EMPCA).
The purpose of the EER is to provide a source of information upon which interested individuals, groups, government agencies and the Board
may consider the environmental and planning impacts of the proposal.
Public Exhibition of Documentation and Public Representations
A copy of the permit application, and of all plans and other documentation submitted with the permit application (including the EER)
were made available for public inspection. The public comment period is now closed.
Following the public comment period the proponent was required by the Board to prepare an EER Supplement to address the issues raised in
public and Government Agency consultation.
