The Proposal
DTK Logging Pty Ltd proposed to expand a hard rock quarry off Gundagai Road, Tunnel; removing and crushing up to 50,000 cubic metres
of material per annum.
The application was referred to the Board of the Environment Protection Authority (the Board) for assessment under the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 (EMPCA).
The proponent lodged a Development Application with a supporting Development Proposal and Environmental Management Plan (DPEMP) to
Launceston City Council.
The DPEMP was prepared by the proponent on the basis of the project specific guidelines for preparation of a DPEMP which were provided by
the Board.
Public Exhibition of Documentation and Public Representations
A copy of the permit application, and of all plans and other documentation submitted with the permit application (including the DPEMP), were advertised for public comment. The public comment period is now closed.
Following the public comment period, the proponent was required by the Board to prepare a DPEMP Supplement to address issues raised in
public and Government Agency consultation.

Environmental Assessment Report and EPA decision
The environmental assessment report has now been completed and can be viewed below. This report contains an environmental assessment and
recommendations to the Board in relation to the proposal.
The permit conditions required by the Board to be included in the land use permit, if a permit is granted by Launceston City Council, are
contained in Appendix 3 of the environmental assessment report.
