The Proposal
Nara Pastoral Holdings Pty Ltd is proposing to operate a Level 2 inert waste landfill at West Mooreville Road, Mooreville, receiving up to 10,000 cubic metres of waste per annum.
The application has been referred to the Board of the Environment Protection Authority (the Board) for assessment under the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 (EMPCA).
The proponent has lodged a Development Application with a supporting Environmental Effects Report (EER) to the Burnie City Council.
The purpose of the EER is to provide a source of information upon which interested individuals, groups, government agencies and the Board may consider the environmental and planning impacts of the proposal.
The EER was prepared by the proponent on the basis of the project specific guidelines for preparation of a EER which were provided by the
Board.
Public Exhibition of Documentation and Public Representations
A copy of the permit application, and of all plans and other documentation submitted with the permit application (including the EER) were advertised for public comment. The public comment period is now closed.
