​​​​The Proposal

Proposal to expand the existing AG & BJ Riley quarry at Nook from the current limit of 350m AHD down to a level of 260m AHD while also increasing production rate from 50,000 to a maximum of 150,000 cubic metres per annum (approximately 240,000 tonnes per annum), all of which may be crushed/screened.​


The proponent has lodged a Permit Application with a supporting Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to Kentish Council.

The application was referred to the Board of the Environment Protection Authority (the Board) for assessment under the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 (EMPCA).

A copy of the permit application and all plans and other documentation submitted with the permit application (including the EIS) are available for public inspection and may be examined during normal business hours at:

Environmental Impact Statement

The purpose of the EIS is to provide a source of information upon which interested individuals, groups, government agencies and the Board may consider the environmental impacts of the proposal.

The EIS was prepared by the proponent on the basis of the Project Specific Guidelines for preparation of an EIS which were provided by the Board.
