The Proposal
The proposal is for the installation of a new dry limestone cascade scrubber system at Austral Bricks’ existing level 2 brick manufacturing facility located on Weston St in Longford.
The new scrubber is required to help reduce emission of acid gases generated during the brick firing process from the kilns exhaust system, particularly removal of hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride and sulphur dioxide gases.
The proposal also includes lime crushing and storage areas.

Environmental Effects Report Guidelines
EER Guidelines have been prepared by the Board to assist
the proponent to prepare a case for assessment. Based on the information
contained in the Notice of Intent, the guidelines identify the key issues which
are expected to be relevant to the assessment of the proposal.
