The Proposal
Boral Construction Materials Group Ltd proposes to
develop a Material Recycling Facility at the existing Bridgewater Quarry to import
and process up to 50,000 tonnes of inert material such as glass, bricks and
construction and demolition waste. Processing will include screening, crushing,
sorting, and stockpiling using existing machinery. Finished recycled aggregates
from this proposal will be integrated (blended) directly into the quarry’s
existing production streams (e.g. road base, fill, or aggregate blend
components).
Development Application
This proposal was referred directly by Brighton Council to the Board of the EPA on 14 February as a development application (DA NO. 2025/216) and therefore a Notice of Intent (NOI) was not required.
