The Proposal
The Quarry is currently classified as a Level 1
activity under the EMPCA. The Proposal seeks approval to intensify operations
to a Level 2 activity, increasing extraction to 20,000m3 of rock or gravel with crushing and
screening of the same materials to equal volumes as what is proposed to be
extracted. No blasting is currently proposed.
Development Application
This proposal was referred directly by Flinders Council to the Board of the EPA on 31 July 2025 as a development application (DA 2025/0025) and therefore a Notice of Intent (NOI) was not required.
Environmental Effects Report Guidelines
EER Guidelines have been prepared by the Board to assist the proponent to prepare a case for assessment. Based on the information contained in the Development Application, the guidelines identify the key issues which are expected to be relevant to the assessment of the proposal.
