​​The Proposal

East Arm Resources Pty Ltd proposes to build and operate an Aggregate Processing Facility (APF) to receive and process into aggregates the rock extracted from the East Arm Road Quarry. The APF includes crushers and screens, conveyors, loaders, hoppers and associated infrastructure (hardstand, powerline, power substation, sediment and drainage systems and ponds, water tank).  The proposal also includes a haul road and bridge over Fourteen Mile Creek.

The APF would process into aggregate the rock/material extracted from the adjacent East Arm Road Quarry; no other material sources are proposed.  The maximum quantity proposed to be processed at the APF is 2,500,000 m³ of rock per annum.​

Development Application

​This proposal was referred directly by George Town Council to the Board of the EPA on 22 April 2024 as a development application (DA number 2024/12) and therefore a Notice Of Intent (NOI) was not required.​​

Environmental Impact Statement Guidelines

EIS Guidelines have been prepared by the Board to assist the proponent to prepare a case for assessment. Based on the information contained in the Notice of Intent, the guidelines identify the key issues which are expected to be relevant to the assessment of the proposal.
