The Proposal
Forico Pty Ltd is proposing to intensify operations at the Black Pit Quarry, located 1 Black Pit Road, off Guildford Road, approximately 34kms south of Burnie. The proposal seeks to increase annual extraction and processing of basalt on site from 4,999 cubic metres to 20,000 cubic metres. Blasting is proposed approximately four times per year. The extracted rock will be processed through crushing and screening to produce bluestone gravel.
