Gadtech Pty Ltd, Nichols Road Quarry Intensification, Nubeena

​​The Proposal

Gadtech Pty Ltd is proposing to intensify operations at Nichols Road Quarry, located off Nichols Road, less than 1km from the township of Nubeena. The proposal involves a production increase from 10,000 cubic metres up to 20,000 cubic metres of rock and gravel per year, and includes the crushing and screening of material. No change to the Maximum Extraction Area approved by the current Permit is proposed. No new infrastructure is proposed.  ​

​Development Application​

This proposal was referred directly by Tasman Council to the Board of the EPA on 2 May as a development application (DA NO. 26/2025) and therefore a Notice of Intent (NOI) was not required. ​

Environmental Effects Report Guidelines

EER Guidelines have been prepared by the Board to assist the proponent to prepare a case for assessment. Based on the information contained in the Development Application, the guidelines identify the key issues which are expected to be relevant to the assessment of the proposal.​
