​​​​​​​The Proposal​

The proposal relates to upgrade works for the Tarraleah Power Scheme and has multiple aspects, including the construction of an intake structure, including development of a temporary concrete batch plant; several extraction sites, including underwater; blasting at several sites, including underwater and underground for the tunnel; and crushing and screening of up to 100,000 cubic meters of material. The proposal will be located around the Clarke Dam area of Lake King William.​

The above proposal has been referred to the Board of the Environment Protection Authority (the Board) for assessment under Section 27 of the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994  (EMPC Act). An Environmental Effects Report (EER) has been lodged in support.

Environmental Effects Report Guidelines​

EER Guidelines have been prepared by the Board to assist the proponent to prepare a case for assessment. Based on the information contained in the Notice of Intent, the guidelines identify the key issues which are expected to be relevant to the assessment of the proposal.​

Environmental Effects Report

The purpose of the EER is to provide a source of information upon which interested individuals, groups, government agencies and the Board may consider the environmental impacts of the proposal.

The EER was prepared by the proponent on the basis of the Project Specific Guidelines for preparation of an EER which were provided by the Board.
