The Proposal
Mountain Stream Fishery Pty Ltd has applied to increase the production and standing biomass limits from 50 tonnes to 181.5 tonnes of finfish at its hatchery at Targa to reflect the current production at the site. The existing finfish farming activity primarily produces Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in flow-through raceways and tanks.
The above application has been referred to the Board of the Environment Protection Authority (the Board) for assessment under the
Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 (EMPC Act).
A Development Proposal and Environmental Management Plan (DPEMP) has been lodged in support of the above proposal.
Public Representations
In accordance with s.57(5) of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 (LUPAA), any person may make a representation relating to the permit application (including the DPEMP/EIS) were made available for public inspection. The public consultation period has now closed.
Development Proposal Environmental Management Plan
The purpose of the DPEMP is to provide a source of information upon which interested individuals, groups, government agencies and the Board may consider the environmental impacts of the proposal.
The DPEMP was prepared by the proponent on the basis of the Project Specific Guidelines for preparation of a DPEMP which were provided by the Board.

Environmental Assessment Report and EPA decision
The environmental assessment report has now been completed and can be viewed below. The report contains the permit conditions required by the Board to be included in the land use permit, if a permit is granted, by Council.
