​​The Proposal

The proposal is for the extension of an extractive pit on two existing mining lease areas, which is currently authorised to produce up to 20,000 cubic metres of sand per annum. The current permit conditions restrict works to within mining leases 1711P/M and 1953P/M. The proponent is applying to surrender the mining lease 1711P/M and extend the area of 1953P/M by an area of 2.4 hectares. There are no proposed changes to production levels or methods proposed.​​​​​​​​

Development Application

This proposal was referred directly by  Council to the Board of the EPA on 21 May 2021 as a development application and therefore a Notice Of Intent (NOI) was not required. ​

​​Environmental Effects Report Guidelines 

EER Guidelines have been prepared by the Board to assist the proponent to prepare a case for assessment. Based on the information contained in the Notice of Intent, the guidelines identify the key issues which are expected to be relevant to the assessment of the proposal.
