The Proposal
Recycal Pty Ltd is proposing to establish a new metal and e-waste recycling and processing facility at Lot 5, Stennings Road, Wynyard. The facility will receive up to 12,000 tonnes of metals and whitegoods per year which will be collected, sorted, baled, shredded, crushed and separated on site. The facility will also act as a transfer point, supplying the larger shredder at Recycal Pty Ltd’s main facility at Rocherlea.
Development Application
This proposal was referred directly by Waratah Wynyard Council to the Board of the EPA on 14 April 2026 as a development application (DA 193-2025) and therefore a Notice of Intent (NOI) was not required.
Environmental
Impact Statement Guidelines
EIS Guidelines have been prepared by the Board to assist
the proponent to prepare a case for assessment. Based on the information
contained in the Development Application, the guidelines identify the key issues which
are expected to be relevant to the assessment of the proposal.
