​​The Proposal

The proposal is for an existing oil recovery facility operating in the industrial area located on River Road Wivenhoe.  The site received waste oil, lubricants, and waste oil filters.  Oil is extracted and reprocessed on site for sale as industrial fuel oil for burning to produce energy.  Current production is around 500,000 litres per annum.  The activity is not currently approved and is considered an oil refinery under EMPCA Schedule 2 1(c). The proponent wishes to increase production to 1,000,000 litres (1ML) under this proposal.​​
