The Proposal
Tyre Recycle Tasmania propose to operate a mobile tyre shredder at their existing Tyre Storage and Processing Facility located at 8 Calvery Road, Mowbray. The approved facility is authorised to process up to 8640 tonnes of end-of-life tyres per annum within an enclosed processing facility, but the facility is yet to be constructed onsite. The site is currently being used to store tyres and the addition of the mobile shredder at the site will enable the processing of tyres.
Development Application
This proposal was referred directly by City of Launceston Council to the Board of the EPA on 07 April 2025 as a development application (DA number 0146/2025) and therefore a Notice Of Intent (NOI) was not required.
Environmental Effects Report Guidelines
EER Guidelines have been prepared by the Board to assist the proponent to prepare a case for assessment. Based on the information contained in the Notice of Intent, the guidelines identify the key issues which are expected to be relevant to the assessment of the proposal.
