​The Proposal

Unity Mining Pty Ltd is proposing to extend the tailings storage facility at the Henty Gold Mine near Queenstown. The proposal involves adding an extension cell to the existing tailings storage facility and allows for two future lifts to the height of the embankment to accommodate the life of mine forecast of 2031 (or beyond). The proposal was revised in September 2025 to remove one of the future lifts which is to be completed prior to the assessment of the extension cell.

​Environmental Impact Statement Guidelines

EIS Guidelines have been prepared by the Board to assist the proponent to prepare a case for assessment. Based on the information contained in the Notice of Intent, the guidelines identify the key issues which are expected to be relevant to the assessment of the proposal.
