The Sewage Pumping Station Environmental Guidelines October 2019 aim to minimise risks to the environment and public health from the design and operation of sewage pumping stations in Tasmania. They provide information on the statutory framework and approvals requirements, set performance objectives for sewage overflows based on the sensitivity of the spill location and provide recommendations for minimum overflow control measures. They also provide guidance for management of odour and noise emissions.
The guidelines are intended to inform operators, civil engineers and other designers of the environmental requirements and standards for pump station performance in Tasmania.
