The Tasmanian Department of Health provides the following air quality health categories based on the hour-averaged PM2.5 value:
Good: 0 to 9 micrograms per cubic metre
Fairly Good: 10 to 24 micrograms per cubic metre
Fairly Poor: 25 to 49 micrograms per cubic metre
Poor: 50 to 99 micrograms per cubic metre
Very Poor: 100 to 299 micrograms per cubic metre
Extremely Poor: Over 300 micrograms per cubic metre

The plots below show PM10 and PM2.5 indicative data (top) and meteorological data (bottom) measured yesterday at Mornington. The day-average measurements are shown in the boxes to the right of the plots below.
The yesterday's data plot shows the real-time values measured for the whole day yesterday. If network issues have prevented data updates the plot will show the most recent complete day of data.
The Mornington BLANkET station is a new-style configuration using solar power to operate. It has been undergoing testing and recording data at Mornington since mid 2013.
Important Note: These data are from a DRX DustTrak. These data are indicative only, and are provided for public information. These unvalidated data cannot be used to determine if air quality standards have been exceeded.
PM2.5 is an indicator of smoke. These are the red triangle symbols in the plots. PM2.5 values below 5 µg m-3 signify very clear air. On a smoky winter's evening in Hobart or Launceston PM2.5 may be near 50 µg m-3 for several hours.
