​​​​​​​​​​​​Under the Right to Information Act 2009 we make information available to the public through proactive disclosure. This means we will routinely make available information to assist the public in understanding what it is we do and how we do it.

Assessment approvals and percentage within statutory timeframes

12 assessments were determined by the EPA Board or by the Director, EPA, under delegation. All assessments were completed within statutory timeframes.

Number of environmental and contaminated land notices issued

204 notices were issued, including

  • Contaminated Sites Notices

Number of variations approved to permits or environmental licences and notices

36 variations were approved. Note: these variations are included in the total notices above. 

Number of complaints to EPA

307 complaints were recorded.

Data released under the national pollutant inventory

Approximately 150 facilities in Tasmania report annually to the National Pollutant Inventory (NPI). Information is checked by the Tasmanian NPI Officer, submitted to the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment and then published on the NPI website. Number of infringement notices issued

98 infringement notices were issued, including 86 Litter Infringement Notices and 12 Environmental Infringement Notices.

The Environment Protection Authority acknowledges the Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the traditional custodians of lutruwita (Tasmania) and pays respect to their Elders, past and present.
