New teaching resource about litter

EPA Tasmania recently released a new resource for primary school teachers about litter.

This is the third resource in a series of manuals designed for teachers, to give them ideas for developing awareness via hands-on lessons about reducing, re-using and recycling waste materials. Other manuals have been published on Paper Waste and Plastic Waste.  All the manuals have lesson plans which meet the requirements of the Australian Curriculum in various subject areas, such as Maths, Science and English, including the cross curricular priority of Sustainability.

With both the Plastics and Litter manuals, there is a strong focus on preventing plastics from entering the marine environment, where they can have particularly bad effects on marine life.

All three teaching resources can be found on our Waste Education page.
