Release of new teaching resource about paper waste

A resource for primary school teachers about paper waste was recently released​.  ​

​This is part of a series of resources designed to support teachers to develop students awareness about sustainability and waste, while meeting areas of th​​​​e Australian Curriculum, including Science, Maths, English and the cross curriculum priority of Sustainability.

Some of the activities covered in the new resource include the history of paper and writing, the environmental impacts of papermaking, how much paper we use or recycle, waste paper reduction in school and many hands-on activities including hand-made papermaking.

The Environment Protection Authority acknowledges the Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the traditional custodians of lutruwita (Tasmania) and pays respect to their Elders, past and present.
