Free e Waste Collection

Need to dispose of unwanted computer and electrical equipment? Then make sure you mark down the weekend of March 17th and 18th in your diary.

Mid March provides the perfect time for Tasmanians to drop off their e-waste free of charge at designated locations across the state.

e-waste drop off points are being established at Launceston, Kingston and Glenorchy on both Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March.

A drop off point will be open at Ulverstone on Saturday 17th March only and in Burnie on Sunday 18th March only.

Items ok for drop-off include:

• Computer equipment (laptop, monitors, keyboards, computer mice and cables, hard drives, floppy discs, CD/DVD drives, iPods, walkmans and compute related peripherals)

• Mobile phone handsets and charges

• Electronic games

• Entertainment equipment (TVs, DVD players, hi-fi systems, stereo equipment, digital cameras and video cameras)

• Home office equipment (printers, scanners, toner and ink cartridges)

Items not suitable for drop-off include:

White-goods, vacuum cleaners, microwaves and other kitchen and household appliances, UPS units, overhead projectors, TVs/monitors that have been removed from their cases or cracked, batteries not part of a computer system, fluorescent tubes, contaminated equipment or other hazardous waste.
