Two winners of the recent Tasmanian Awards for Environmental Excellence have been nominated as finalists in the People's Choice Awards at the national Banksia awards next month.
The Tasmanian Landcare Association Extra Hands program and Cascade's Sustainability Program are among nine projects nominated for the prestigious popular choice award.
The Tasmanian projects have also been nominated in their respective award categories: Cascade in the climate section and Extra Hands in the community and education sections.
The Banksia Environmental Foundation says with only nine entries eligible to win the People's Choice prize, this is a great effort by Tasmania.

The Tasmanian Awards for Environmental Excellence were presented at the end of May.
They are the pre-eminent awards for the State Government in terms of recognising and celebrating environmental achievement by industry and community.
The Tasmanian Landcare Association’s Extra Hands program won three of eight awards including the coveted Minister’s Award for Environmental Excellence.
The Cascade Brewery’s energy conservation program and its new carbon-neutral beer won the Large Business Sustainability Award and the Premier’s Award for Climate Action.
