The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is inviting feedback on a proposed scheduling decision for short chain chlorinated paraffins. This decision will help to manage the environmental risks associated with these chemicals.
Short chain chlorinated paraffins have historically been used in plastic and rubber products as a plasticiser and flame retardant, as well as in the metalworking and leather industries.
Consultation on the proposed standard opened on Monday 9 October 2023.
Your feedback will help Australian governments and businesses to effectively manage the environmental risks of these chemicals.
To have your say, visit the consultation page. Submissions close on Wednesday 8 November 2023.
