A delegate of the Board of the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has concluded assessment of a proposal by Tyrecycle Pty Ltd for the Tyre Recycling Facility Upgrade, 3 Weily Park Road Bridgewater in Brighton.
The proposal involves an upgrade of the existing tyre processing facility to install an additional shredder, to process pre-shredded tyre pieces and increase the annual processing capacity from 5,000 to 10,000 tonnes.
Public consultation was open for 15 days from 28 January 2026. No representations were made in relation to the proposal.
The Board's delegate has considered the relevant issues and determined that the proposal can be managed in an environmentally sustainable manner, with conditions imposed. Key conditions include the control of noise and dust emissions from the activity.
The Board's delegate undertook assessment of the proposal in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessment Principles in Section 74 of the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994.
