Tasmanian businesses delivering innovative sustainability initiatives are encouraged to put their achievements in the spotlight, with nominations for the 2026 EPA Sustainability Awards closing on Tuesday 4 August 2026.
Proudly sponsored by the EPA as part of the Tasmanian Community Achievement Awards, the EPA Sustainability Award recognises businesses and organisations that are leading the way in cleaner production and environmental sustainability.
The awards celebrate initiatives that have delivered measurable improvements in areas such as energy efficiency, water conservation, resource efficiency, waste minimisation, and reuse and recycling.
EPA Acting Director and CEO, Amanda Locatelli said the awards were an opportunity to recognise the businesses making a real difference for Tasmania's environment.
"Across Tasmania, businesses are developing practical and innovative ways to reduce their environmental footprint while improving the way they operate," Ms Locatelli said.
"These awards celebrate proactive leadership and provide an opportunity to showcase the projects and people driving positive environmental outcomes. If your organisation has a sustainability success story to share, we encourage you to submit a nomination."
Organisations don't need to have a major, state-wide project to be eligible. Whether it's a single initiative or a broader program of work, the judges are looking for projects that demonstrate genuine environmental benefits and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Businesses that are unsure how to prepare a nomination are encouraged to seek assistance. Both the EPA and Awards Australia can provide advice and support to help applicants put together a strong submission.
With the deadline fast approaching, now is the time to act.
