Nominations deadline extended for 2022 EPA Sustainability Award

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is calling for nominations for this year’s EPA Sustainability Award.

The EPA Sustainability Award is one of several categories of the Tasmanian Community Achievement Awards (CCA). The Awards, which are run by Awards Australia are designed to recognise individuals, organisations and groups that are making a difference in their local communities and across the State.

EPA Director, Mr Wes Ford said that the Sustainability Award is designed to recognize the practical efforts being made in the Tasmanian community towards environmental sustainability.

“The Award is open to Tasmanian businesses, groups and organisations that have developed and implemented clean production initiatives and sustainable practices,” said Mr Ford.

“We are interested in showcasing projects and initiatives that have delivered measurable improvements in preventing pollution, conserving energy and water, minimising waste and maximising resource efficiency,” he said.

“We would be delighted to receive nominations from Tasmanian businesses that are helping to protect the Tasmanian environment,” said Mr Ford.

Submissions should be for a project or initiative that results in measurable improvements in any or all of the following areas: energy efficiency, water conservation, resource efficiency, waste minimisation; and results in wider community or flow-on benefits to the sector.

Nominations are now open until Sunday 21 August 2022, and the winners will be announced at a Gala presentation on Friday 28 October 2022.
