The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is calling for nominations for the 2024 EPA Sustainability Awards and would love your help to recognise a business, group, or organisation that is working towards a cleaner Tasmania.
The Awards are designed to encourage, acknowledge, and reward the valuable contributions being made throughout Tasmania by Tasmanians.
As naming rights sponsor for the EPA Sustainability Award category of the Tasmanian Community Achievement Awards (TCAA) run by Awards Australia, the EPA sponsors two Award categories:
- The EPA Sustainability Award (Industry); and
- The EPA Sustainability Award (Community).
EPA Director, Wes Ford said that having two awards recognising sustainability across both the industry and community sectors allows for an easier and fairer method for judging criteria and achievements across each sector.
“The Awards are open to Tasmanian businesses, groups and organisations that have developed and implemented cleaner production initiatives, delivering measurable improvements in energy and water conservation, resource efficiency, waste minimisation, reuse and recycling," said Mr Ford.
“Submissions can be for a project or initiative that results in measurable improvements in any or all of these areas and results in wider community, or flow-on sector benefits," he said.
Nominations are now open until Wednesday 31 July 2024, and the winners will be announced at a gala presentation on Friday 18 October 2024.
