Nominations opening soon for the 2026 EPA Sustainability Awards

Nominations for the 2026 Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Sustainability Awards will open on 4 June 2026, with the search set to begin for the next industry and community leaders helping to create a cleaner Tasmania.

The Awards recognise the practical efforts of businesses and community organisations that have developed and implemented cleaner production initiatives. These initiatives deliver measurable improvements in areas such as energy and water conservation, resource efficiency, waste minimisation, reuse and recycling.

The EPA sponsors two awards as part of the Tasmanian Community Achievement Awards (TCAA), delivered by Awards Australia - one recognising Industry and the other Community.

The inclusion of both categories highlights the importance of sustainability across all sectors of the Tasmanian community, acknowledging the contribution of both businesses and grassroots organisations in driving environmental improvements.

The Awards are open to Tasmanian businesses, groups and organisations. Submissions can be for a project or initiative that demonstrates measurable environmental outcomes, along with broader benefits for the community or across an industry.

The program also aims to showcase and celebrate the strong sustainability work taking place across the state, encouraging wider participation and knowledge-sharing.

The EPA Sustainability Awards form part of the broader Tasmanian Community Achievement Awards program, which recognises excellence, leadership and innovation across Tasmania.

Nominations open on 4 June 2026 and close on 4 August 2026. Judging will take place on 9 September 2026, with winners announced at a gala presentation dinner on 30 October 2026.
