The EPA has approved updated Dissolved Oxygen Mitigation Plans for salmon farming operations in Macquarie Harbour.
The plans require industry to implement measures to offset the 10.3 tonnes of oxygen used by marine finfish farming in the harbour each day, with dissolved oxygen supplementation to reach this level by 1 November 2026.
The plans also set out clear milestones, environmental performance measures, and reporting requirements, ensuring the EPA can monitor progress.
