Compliance with Legislation

The EPA Compliance Policy guides decision-making about the application of enforcement measures, and sets out the general principles, criteria and measures that EPA Tasmania will use where non-compliance with the requirements of the legislation we are responsible for is identified. It will generally be triggered when other efforts to secure compliance have been unsuccessful, or for matters where a full investigation of suspected non-compliance is deemed necessary.
