The Sewage Pumping Station Environmental Guidelines December 1999 present performance expectations for sewerage systems, addressing issues such as odour, noise, communications technology and emergency preparedness. Public health requirements for monitoring, setting up warning signs, and reporting incidents to the EPA are also included.
The guidelines are intended to inform operators, civil engineers and other hydraulic designers of the environmental requirements and standards for sewer and pump station performance in Tasmania. The driving performance goal should be "zero uncontrolled emissions to the environment".
