​The Regulatory Framework for Sustainable Discharge of Treated Wastewater from Level 2 WWTPs explains how wastewater regulation supports the diversion of pollutants away from waterways and towards a beneficial use as recycled water.  It also outlines the conditions that need to be met for a discharge of treated wastewater to be recognised as sustainable.​
