Litter and Dumping

Tasmania prides itself on its clean air, water and land, yet litter is often visible in our parks, reserves and roadsides.

Not only is litter unappealing, it ends up in our waterways and in the ocean. Reducing and preventing littering and dumping is everyone’s responsibility: governments, businesses and individuals.  The State Government is addressing these problems by increasing the penalties for littering, releasing a Report Rubbish web application to facilitate more litter clean-ups and introducing a Container Refund Scheme in 2022.
