Environmental Regulation Portal
The Environmental Regulation Portal is now live and access is restricted to Environmental Health Officers, participating EPA staff and relevant Department of Health, Environmental Health Australia, and Local Government Association of Tasmania staff.
The goal of the Portal is to improve EPA engagement with Local Government, to build capacity in environmental regulation and through improved decision-making, facilitate improvements in environmental outcomes.
The Portal supports these goals by promoting a training calendar, recorded professional development sessions (for convenient access), case studies, communication tools, and updates.
To sign up to the portal, please send your email address to the Local Government Engagement contact below.
Upcoming Training Events
The EPA is working with Environmental Health Australia (EHA) Tasmania to provide environmental regulation training sessions at EHA Professional Development training days.
The training builds capability across a range of regulatory areas and aims to increase regulation skill levels in Council staff.
The goal is for Council staff who regulate Level 1 environmental activities under the
Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 to improve skills and knowledge in this complex area of regulation.
EHA Tasmania recognises EPA sessions and awards Continuing Professional Development points to staff who participate.
Dates and sessions are updated on the Environmental Regulation Portal.
